Franklin Pumps

Thompson Water Wells uses only the finest quality Franklin Electric submersible pumps to give the best possible water pressure and lasting water system durability. Getting to the water is only half our job. Getting the water to you is our primary goal.

Franklin has been manufacturing water well supplies longer than any supplier in the industry.

The pump is placed near the bottom of the well, suspended on pipe referred to as "drop pipe." The pump pumps the water up the well into a pressure tank or storage tank. The depth the pump is set at and the distance of the well to the house or well-pit determines the horsepower need of the pump.

The GPM or gallons-per-minute of the pump is determined based on water need and availability. We size the pump's GPM based on the depth, pressure, and water availability of each well. Some wells make more water than you can reasonably use and some make very small amounts of water. In those cases a water storage tank is necessary. The amount of water a well makes is usually determined by the location of the well and the geology of an area or region.

Pressure Tanks

We use an industry standard Flex-Lite captive air pressure tank. A pressure tank is a capsule-shaped tank with a rubber bladder. Water is forced in through an opening at the bottom of the tank which compresses the bladder. When a faucet or valve is opened, the compressed bladder forces water out of the tank creating pressure in the out-going line.

Storage Tanks

In some cases a well naturally makes a small amount of water. In this situation, we install a cistern to collect and hold water. Thompson Water Wells uses NSF-approved cisterns manufactured by RMI (Rotonics Manufacturing Company). These tanks are buried so it doesn't take up space in your yard or portico.
